Should we have a statement that acknowledges the First Peoples of Australia?
Yes. This should be in the Constitution.
Where is the best place to put it?
In the constitution not preamble we dont, I don't wont to be an introduction or seen to be setting the scene I wont true recogonition of our existence and belonging as the first people of this Country.

Not sure but words such as Inherent Right, Respect, Knowledge Holders, First People and the word Aboriginal come to mind. It must acknowledge the past our history which is important and that knowledge is part of us it gives us our identity which we will t

Its a statement that captures the past and sets the scene and guarantees the future as Aboriginal People are the first people of this great country, through our inherent right, cultural knowledge and practices our identity continues to survive underpinned

Yes
Do you have any ideas about what words to use for that guarantee, or where in the Constitution to put it?
Not really but the one thing as an Aboriginal person you can be sure of you have suffered racial discrimination at some stage wether verbally, physically or emotionally (the silent abuse) you can feel it, the elephant when it is in the room.
Should the guarantee protect all Australians against racial discrimination, or only Indigenous Australians?
All Australians

Ensure a clear process of retribution and severe penalties.

Separate heading in the constitution which clearly articulates what wont be tolerated.

Should a new Indigenous group be set up under the Constitution to give advice and make sure Indigenous people have a voice in political decisions that affect them?

Is it worth creating the new group if it can only give advice and does not have the power to block new laws?

The group must be appointed by the Aboriginal people not government.

A good mix of mob is important, Elders, Professionals and Clan Groups.

Gos forbid but politics can work in misteries way minorities can become majorites in some cases that could be freightening.

At the start I wasn't sure about the constitutional debate but being on this journey has allowed me to gain a better understanding and view point of the debate from all sides and hopefully we can move forward with great change which will bring about a bri
